Overview
NuxtHub makes full-stack Nuxt development easier by adding a database, file storage, key-value storage, and caching to your app through one module. It was created by the Nuxt team with Cloudflare as its original home, and today it runs on Cloudflare as well as Vercel, Netlify, and other hosts.
On Cloudflare, NuxtHub maps its features onto D1, R2, and KV, so a single Nuxt project can use edge-native storage with very little configuration.
Key Features
- SQL database with automatic migrations
- File storage (blob) for images, videos, and other assets
- Caching for pages, API routes, and server functions
- Key-value storage for globally accessible JSON data with low latency
- Provider flexibility: deploy to Cloudflare, Vercel, Netlify, and more
- Templates and a CLI to start and manage projects quickly
Getting Started
Add the module to an existing Nuxt project:
npx nuxi module add hub
Then enable the features you need (database, blob, KV, cache) in your Nuxt config and follow the installation guide on hub.nuxt.com for your deployment target. Looking for the older, Cloudflare-only 0.9 version? It lives on the 0.9 branch with its own legacy documentation.
Use Cases
- Full-stack Nuxt apps with a database and file uploads on Cloudflare
- Caching expensive server routes at the edge
- Moving a Nuxt project between hosts without rewriting its storage layer
