Overview

CloudPaste is a serverless, self-hosted file manager and text-sharing tool built on Cloudflare. It combines a pastebin-style Markdown editor with a multi-storage file drive and a WebDAV server, so you can share notes and files and mount many storage backends as one network drive — all without running a server.

Key Features

Cloudflare-native architecture

  • Runs on Workers, Workflows, and D1, served from Cloudflare’s global network
  • Single-Worker deployment with frontend and backend together, or split them if you prefer
  • No servers to maintain, with automatic scaling

Multi-storage support

  • S3-compatible storage: Cloudflare R2, Backblaze B2, AWS S3, Alibaba Cloud OSS, Tencent COS, MinIO, and more
  • Other backends: WebDAV, OneDrive, Google Drive, Telegram, Discord, Hugging Face, and GitHub (read-only)
  • Smart uploads: presigned direct uploads, streaming, and resumable chunked uploads with live progress
  • Previews for 30+ formats, including images, video, audio, PDF, Office documents, code, and e-books

Markdown editor and sharing

  • Rich Markdown editing with math, flowcharts, and mind maps
  • Export to PDF, HTML, PNG, or Word
  • Shares protected by password, expiry time, and view limits
  • Raw links for hosting config files, similar to GitHub Raw

WebDAV and permissions

  • Mount everything as a WebDAV network drive in any client
  • API keys scoped to specific storage paths with read/write permissions and expiry
  • Admin authentication with JWT, plus an installable PWA

Getting Started

You need a Cloudflare account; if you use R2, enable it and create a bucket first.

  • GitHub Actions (recommended): fork the repository, add your Cloudflare account ID and API token as repository secrets, and run the deploy workflow — it creates the D1 database and deploys the Worker.
  • Manual: deploy with the Wrangler CLI.
  • Docker: frontend and backend images with a Docker Compose file, including local-disk storage.

After deployment, sign in as the administrator and add your storage configurations from the dashboard.

Use Cases

  • A personal or team pastebin with expiring, password-protected links
  • One web and WebDAV front end for several cloud storage accounts
  • Lightweight file sharing without paying for a VPS
